Silk screen printing is very versatile because it can be done on a variety of materials, which is a great advantage. It can create different effects than other printing methods because it allows for thicker ink printing. It also allows for a wider variety of colors, inks, and dyes because of the simplicity of the application technique. The design is very durable because screen printing allows the ink to bond very tightly with the materials.
The most versatile of all printing processes.
- Cost effective eye catching advertising that works well for literally every industry, big or small.
- Long-term weather resistance
- Small or Large Sizes, can be custom die cut to any shape.
In the silk screen process, the printing is achieved by forcing a thick ink-paste evenly through the mesh of the screen with a special blade. The print screen comprises a fine mesh material stretched over a wooden or metal frame. The screen can be of silk, synthetics or metal. The required art is transferred to the screen from a negative. The exposed areas harden out to form an ink impermeable coating on the screen, while the unexposed areas remain soft and washable. During the printing process the ink is stencilled through these soft open parts of the screen onto the product. Finally the printed pieces are run through a dryer.
