Offset printing is able to supply the most vibrant and crisp printing around. It is good for larger orders and also offers the highest quality printing available. Some printing methods start off good, but cannot hold the print quality and color through the run. With offset printing, the quality remains consistent throughout the run, so the first print and last print will look exactly the same. Monarch uses UV inks in all of its printing processes.
Eco-sensitivity of UV printing:
The EPA has suggested that UV printing is the most environmentally conscious method of printing today. Thus, there is simply no “greener” way to print. Because UV inks contain no oils or solvents, the inks do not contain, nor emit, the primary properties contributing to the VOC and HAP emissions that cause ozone depletion. UV printing is easier to recycle because the inks and coating are insoluble in water. Therefore, they are easier to separate from the substrate. An added benefit is that the recovered ingredients of UV inks can be used to manufacture black UV ink.
Stochastic or FM Screening:
Stochastic (Frequency Modulation) screening results in greater detail, less ink, the disappearance of moiré patterns, increased tonal values, crisper fine lines, cleaner type, and cleaner reverses. Monarch is one of the few printers on the East Coast to have, and understand, this printing technology.
Spot UV Coating:
Spot UV coating is a clear UV ink that is applied to a printed sheet. It is most effective when used to highlight specific areas of your art work. The areas of the printed piece that have a spot UV coating have a high gloss finish that catches the light, drawing attention to your product.
